Al-Mazad (Auction) Fort is one of the fortresses of the Banu Haram ibn Ka'b ibn Ghannam ibn Ka'b, from the Banu Salamah branch of the Khazraj tribe. The trench dug during the Battle of the Trench (the Confederates) started at the level of this fort. The fort is located west of the city of Madinah.
The Banu Haram had built their homes in the caves of Mount Sal'. The Al-Mazad region is an ancient farm known as Jiz' al-Sayh, located near the small Banu Haram Mosque in Al-Qa'a. This farm is situated in the northern cavity of Harrat al-Wabra, also known as "Harrat Banu Haram" or "Harrat Banu Salamah", right next to the Harrat cliff.
